Sasha kicks off the holiday season on Halloween with a piece of pumpkin pie and some tasty recipes for holiday libations.

Milk Punch
- 2 oz bourbon or rum
- 1/2 oz simple syrup
- 6 oz milk or half-and-half
Shake vigorously with ice and strain into a tall glass full of fresh ice. Top with freshly grated nutmeg.
Egg Nog
- 2 oz bourbon, rum, or brandy
- 1 oz simple syrup
- 1 egg
- 4 oz milk, cream, or half-and-half
Dry shake, then shake with ice. Strain into 1 or 2 glasses and garnish with freshly grated nutmeg.
Rum Flip
- 2 oz rum
- 1/2 oz ginger syrup
- 1 egg
Dray shake, then shake with ice. Strain into a wine glass and top with freshly grated nutmeg.
Ginger Syrup
- sugar
- water
- fresh ginger
Heat equal parts sugar and water while stirring with a few slices of fresh ginger. After sugar is dissolved let it sit for 3-6 hours before removing ginger and bottling.
Louisville Stinger
- 1 oz bourbon
- 1 oz rum
- 1/2 oz white crème de cacao
- 1/4 oz white crème de menthe
Stir with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Use green crème de menthe and garnish with a red maraschino cherry for a more festive look.
Bengal Lancers’ Punch
- 1 bottle dry red wine
- 3 oz rum
- 3 oz orange curaçao
- 1/2 cup lime juice
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 2 oz simple syrup
- 1 bottle chilled champagne
- 16 oz seltzer
Mix all but the champagne and seltzer in a chilled punch bowl. Add block of ice, champagne, and seltzer immediately before serving. Garnish with slices of lime floated on top.
Mulled Wine
- 1 bottle red wine
- 1-1/2 cups water
- spices (clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, etc.) to taste
- sugar to taste and as needed based on the dryness of the wine
Boil water and spices. strain to remove whole spices. Add sugar and wine. Heat to near boiling before serving.
Apple Toddy
- 2 oz applejack or apple brandy
- 1/4 of a baked apple
- 1 tsp powdered sugar
- boiling water, or hot tea, or hot apple juice
Place spirit, apple, and sugar in a stemmed glass or mug. Fill glass with water, tea, or apple juice. Grate fresh nutmeg on top.
Baked Apples
Core apples and bake in pan with a small amount of water inside a pre-heated oven at 375° F for 30-40 minutes.
