In this episode Sasha shows some love to all the pregnant ladies and other teetotalers out there with a bunch of tips and recipes for making awesome drinks without booze. First he congratulated Meg & Josh from the Brilliant Gameologists (http://www.brilliantgameologists.com/) on their new human being and give Zeke the BG a consolation drink named for a great rock song.
Drinks in this episode:
Name This Drink (Seriously, help me name this drink)
- 2 oz pineapple juice
- 6 oz ginger beer
Build on the rocks in a tall glass and garnish with fresh mint.
Batman Cocktail
- 6 oz orange juice
- 1/2 to 1 tsp grenadine
Build in a tall glass full of ice in the listed order, garnish with an orange wheel and cherry.
Crow’s Nest
- 4 oz orange juice
- 1 oz cranberry juice
- 1 whole egg
- 1/2 tsp grenadine
Dry shake to mix and froth the drink, shake again with ice to chill. Strain into an ice-filled old fashioned glass and garnish with a cherry.
Golden Nest
- 4 oz orange juice
- 1 oz cranberry juice
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/2 tsp grenadine
Dry shake to mix and froth the drink, shake again with ice to chill. Strain into an ice-filled old fashioned glass and garnish with a cherry.
Holy Diver Cocktail
- 1 oz rye whiskey
- 1 oz brandy
- 1/2 oz Bénédictine
- 1/2 oz Jägermeister
- 1 dash Peychaud’s bitters
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
Stir with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Express the oil from an orange peel to be used as a garnish.
Lime Tonic
- 1 oz Rose’s Lime
- 6 oz tonic water
Build over ice in a tall glass and garnish with a lime wedge.
Parson’s Special Cocktail
- 2 oz orange juice
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 oz grenadine
Dry shake to froth, then shake with ice to chill. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Penzance Cocktail
- 2 oz orange juice
- 6 oz ginger beer
Build in a tall glass over ice. Garnish with a lemon wedge.
Silver Nest
- 4 oz orange juice
- 1 oz cranberry juice
- 1 egg white
- 1/2 tsp grenadine
Dry shake to mix and froth the drink, shake again with ice to chill. Strain into an ice-filled old fashioned glass and garnish with a cherry.
Southampton
- 6 oz tonic water
- 3 dashes Angostura bitters
Build and stir in a tall glass over ice. Garnish with 1-2 lime wedges.
Swanky Lemonade
- 1/2 oz lemon juice
- 1/2 oz syrup
- 2 oz water
Shake with ice and strain into a sugar-rimmed cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon wedge or lemon twist.

So maybe it’s the Young Buck? The Baby Buck? Or The Hawaiian Doe?
Well, traditionally a ginger beer cocktail is either a “buck” or a “mule:”

Oh yeah. Lots of drinks! It’s generally a texture thing and not a taste thing. Egg whites allow a drink to have a silky feel and foamy top.
